I bought the first one for my wife for her iphone. She has a lifeproof case on it, so the docks made for the iphone won't fit hers. She actually pops hers in and out depending on which car we're taking, and it's working great. So when I upgraded my phone just before Christmas, I ordered another one for me.It secured to the dashboard of my car (which is textured, and not perfectly flat) in a spot that my previous car mount would not. For the person having trouble with needing to readjust it while going down the road, perhaps (s)he did not see that there is a sort of dial on the back of the phone part that loosens or tightens. Loosen it to move it around more easily, tighten it to hold the phone in place more stiffly. My new phone is a Galaxy Nexus, which is at the large end of phones, and I have a mid sized case on it, and it holds perfectly. I leave it horizontal, but my wife uses hers exclusively in portrait, and she's never had any trouble... I kept it one day and sent it back. It's made of cheap plastic, and doesn't hold my phone well. It bounces all over the place at high speeds, so you have to constantly keep adjusting it to see the GPS on the phone, which is almost as dangerous as holding the phone while you talk. The one good aspect of this mount is the suction cup, which really does stick well to the dashboard, windshield or just about any other surface in your car.
